Counselling can help with a wide range of issues such as:- Bereavement, trauma, stress, relationship issues, depression etc
CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU
High Peak Citizens Advice Bureau offers free and confidential advice on a range of issues including benefits, debt, employment and housing. The session is held each Thursday at Hayfield surgery. We offer 2x30 minute appointments for registered patients between 1:30 and 2:30pm, and a drop-in session between 2:30 and 4pm. Please contact the surgery reception to book an appointment.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
For problems with low back pain, joint pains, stiffness, mobility
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS
It is advisable to check with the practice nurse well in advance Of your holiday departure date to allow time for the full course of necessary vaccinations to be given. There will be a charge for certain vaccinations which are not routinely given.
CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS
The Health visitor will ensure that all children receive necessary immunisations. Appointments will be sent to parents to bring their child to the practice for health checks and immunisations.
CERVICAL SMEARS
You will be sent a reminder from the national recall centre when your smear is due. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to have this done at the surgery.
MINOR SURGERY
This service includes removal of warts, verrucas, cysts, moles, Joint injections etc
Phlebotomy
Our Healthcare Assistant Nicola Smith is available by appointment her tasks include
- Taking blood
- Blood Pressure monitoring
- Cardio Vascular Disease monitoring
- Flu vaccinations
- Urine sampling
PRACTICE NURSE
Mrs Jill Dean is the practice nurse and is available by appointment.
Her numerous tasks include:-
- Taking blood for tests
- Infant and adult immunisations
- Cervical smears
- Dressings and removal of stitches
- Ear syringing
- Monitoring of blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, heart problems etc.
- Minor surgery
