OUT OF HOURS SERVICES

clockIf you think you may need to see a doctor out of hours, telephone 111 the new telephone service making it easier to access local health services urgently  When patients call 111 they will be assessed, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help them best – that could be an out-of-hours doctor, walk-in centre, community nurse, emergency dentist or late opening chemist. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls from landlines and mobile phones are free 

If necessary, you may be invited to attend the urgent care centre based at New Mills Health Centre, Hyde Bank Road, New Mills ( The Health Centre is situated on the left just past New Mills Leisure Centre) or you may be visited at home.

Opening hours are as follows;

  • Monday to Friday 6.30pm – 10pm
  • Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays 9.30am to 10.pm

Appointments
Appointments can be made by telephoning 0844 4994470 for Hayfield or New Mills or by calling in at either surgery. Routine appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance which will enable us to offer you appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.

Text service

We are now able to text you a reminder the day before your appointment if you are interested in this service please contact reception and give them your mobile phone number

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

Home Visits
Patients are requested to telephone before 10.30am if a visit is required that day. These visits are intended only for those patients who are housebound or who are genuinely too ill to attend surgery. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time
